This extensive National Park consumes nearly half the total area of the Australian Capital Territory. It is an amazing place to experience the Australian bush, with great wildlife and dramatic granite outcrops throughout the region.

For those seeking a thrill, there is great rock climbing. You can find Aboriginal Rock paintings, quarries and campsites from over 20,000 years ago of native inhabitancy, on your bushwalks exploring the area. You can experiences variety of natural settings in a relatively small area, anything from rolling plains of grass to the earlier mentioned granite and rugged hills lined with snow gums. Tours and guided walks are available, but you can also well pick up a guidebook or map for walking tracks and explore it on your own.

You can explore the area from Canberra, but it is also a great way to pass through on your journey south to the Snowy Mountain region in New South Wales.
